Everything that has a beginning, must have an end! The 2nd of October 2004 and it's the Delilahs Closing party! Just about the end of the summer, so time for one last bash, a do to end all. But how do you finish such a great summer, how would you put the icing on the cake? Superstar DJ, ALI FROM THE VALLEY was away, back to the home land the week before. One morning in a downtown bar, San An - it came to pass, that a friend of a friend, knew a guy in the States, who was connected to a certain American TV personality, JOHN BURNELL! yes John J.F.K. Burnell, only THE VOICE of The worlds wildest police videos, BRAVO most weekdays, certificate 15. Little did we know, that this guy knew, that John was also a world famous DJ and was actually in Barcelona filming the hit TV series Chilli Dog Chasers! |

A few phone calls were made and yes u guest it, John was booked! He was set to grace this fine island with his presence. The Delilahs PR's were sent out to spread the word. The eggnog mixed and twinkys freshly baked. San An waited with baited breath as Wisconsin's finest was on his way, venue Delilahs! Commeth the hour, commeth the man and there he stood, fine and dandy. Oozing power and per Nash as he entered the stage, his stage! You always knew that this was going to be it, a night to remember always - track after track, hit after hit! Oh, how the eggnog flowed - the whole bar, packed full and pissed as f * * k - perfect, one of the best nights of the year! Thank you Delilahs and thank you John, there is a god after all and GOD is a DJ! 2005 at Delilahs, bring it on........!

Thousands
of young workers head over to Ibiza every summer, whether it’s poor students
during their short 7 week summer break, or footloose, happy go lucky's , who just sell up
and scarper to the Island of Sun. Looking for work The
best time to come over to Ibiza is in the first week of May, at this time many
of the bars are still setting up. This is a good time to treck around asking
for work, most places will be on the look out for PR’s, bar staff, waiter
staff and chefs etc. It is
probably a good idea to book yourself a two week holiday so that you will
always have a base while you job hunt. There are also a few hostels in San
Antonio, which range from around twelve euros per night. There’s one hostel
on the West End strip above Delilahs, or you can head up to the top of the
strip, to the Ship Inn Pub, where you have a useful notice board with
information, numbers and people looking for roomy’s.. Working You have to remember that the summer season only lasts for 5 months and every bar and club has to make their money, so the pressure’s on. Do not expect to get a day off, most bar workers work seven days a week, with days off, few and far between, if your lucky – Waiters and waitresses and chefs usually work shifts, so there’s a good chance of getting a bit of time to yourself to get your sunbathing and clubbing done! PR,s usually work seven days a week, but finish at 3 or 4 o clock in the morning. Most pubs and clubs are open till 6. Money - Barstaff and waiter staff, around 35 to 40 euros a night. PR's - around 25 to 35 eruo. ( most club tickets are free for workers - happy days! Have
no elusions, you will work hard, and sometimes the season will seen never
ending but look on the bright side - are you stuck in traffic on a wet Tuesday
afternoon? – no you are spending your week days on one of the most beautiful
Islands in the world. Working in Ibiza is a lot more relaxed compared to working in the UK. It’s just as important for all workers to have a laugh and a good time during your work, remember, you are on a party Island! Taking a risk and making a break to Ibiza, may just probably the smartest move you’ll make, most workers return year after year, you’ll never know unless you give it a shot!

GIRL'S DIARY Written by Amy Wright Sunday 11th May 2003 Saw him in the evening and he was acting really strangely. I went shopping in the afternoon with the girls and I did turn up a bit late so I thought it might be that. The bar was really crowded and loud. I suggested we go somewhere quieter to talk. He was still very subdued and distracted so I suggested we go somewhere nice to eat. All through dinner he just didn't seem himself; he hardly laughed and didn't seem to be paying any attention to me or to what I was saying. I just knew that something was wrong. He dropped me back home and I wondered if he was going to come in; he hesitated, but followed. I asked him again if there was something matter but he just half shook his head and turned the television on. After about 10 minutes of silence, I said I was going upstairs to bed. I put my arms around him and told him that I loved him deeply. He just gave a sigh, and a sad sort of smile. He didn't follow me up, but later he did, and I was surprised when we made love. He still seemed distant and a bit cold, and I started to think that he was going to leave me, and that he had found someone else I cried myself to sleep. BLOKES DIARY Sunday 11th May 2003. My football team Cardiff City were relegated today. Gutted. Got a shag though!
