Ibiza Welcome To Sunshine Radio Ibiza - The only English speaking commercial radio station in Ibiza

The sound of Summer' Sunshine 101 fm has been on the air since 1999. The radio station broadcasts music from the 1960s to the present day, including dance, rock, love songs, pop and easy listening. Sunshine 101is on air from June 1st through to September 30th and transmits from San Antonio, Ibiza, Spain.

Although it is the only 24/7 seasonal station it does have a high lestenership during it's anual 18 week run with mixed age groups who visit the island as as British ex pats and the local Spanish population.

 

 

Up until this year the dozen DJs from the UK and Eire have rolled out the music around the clock, however, this season the station has moved from Live and CD/minidisc output to computers and therefore just a couple of regular voices are on the air. This style of playout system from the USA known as Jack FM format is being tried this year only for possible out of season broadcasts on the internet. Be sure that the regular Sunshine voices and specialist shows will return for Summer season 2007.

Due to the hilly terrain if Ibiza, Sunshine Radio 101 fm is received will in and around San Antonio town and Bay, plus outlying areas of this popular resort. Night time reception is over a wider area, however, plans are for an AM/Medium wave outlet for 2007 to extend the signal and coverage of Sunshine radio. For the first time it is now available on the web until the end of September .
